Cleaning an oil/water separator

Q. Is there an industry standard for the frequency of cleaning an oil/water separator?

A. According to the EPA document cited below, “the ability of oil/water separators to function properly depends upon routine service and maintenance.  The operator should make frequent inspections of all parts of the separator and its draining system……..”
